[Mod_gzip] "mod_gzip_send_vary=Yes" disables caching on IE? (1.3.26.1a)

Whoops... sorry... ignore last message.

At second glance... I take your simple 'Ack' response
response to my comment to mean that SQUID will,
in fact, write "Expires: -1" responses to disk even
though there is no need to.

If it's not the case. Ping back.
