[Mod_gzip] apache ssi not working

I have installed apache in my linux box everything is working ok. but ssi is 
not working, httpd.conf is configured ok
                                          AddType text/html .shtml
                                          AddType text/x-server-parsed-html 
.shtml
                                          AddHandler server-parsed .shtml

I have run httpd -l to list modules configured with apache server:

      Compiled-in modules:
        http_core.c
        mod_so.c
      suexec: enabled; valid wrapper /usr/sbin/suexec

mod_include is not included please do advice what do I need to have ssi to 
work please do help, and where can I get mod_include.c
