[Mod_gzip] mod_gzip installation

Hello,
I try to install mod_gzip 1.3.19 version on the Apache
1.3.14 Web server but get error message that
mod_gzip_on is not recognized inspite the fact that I
add LoadModule directive to my httpd.conf file. The
same error I get with 1.3.16 version of mod_gzip.
With 1.3.27 version of the Apache Web server
everything works fine.
Is there is any problem with old versions of the
Apache server?
Any help will be appreciated,
