Hello:
We have the old 1.3.19.1a version of mod_gzip running on a run of the mill
Apache 1.3.26 webserver. I have seen a lot of discussion about squid,
proxies, Vary headers, etc... and I'll admit I have not followed those
discussions closely.
For a standard website that is using mod_gzip to compress html, txt, and
php files, is upgrading to this new version recommended? Are there any
problems that are now encountered with this new version? Are there any
major changes we have to make to the httpd.conf settings or anything
besides the apxs DSO recompiling?
Just trying to get a gauge on the necessity of upgrading or not from the
version we are currently running. Thanks for any feedback/ideas.
