[Mod_gzip] Problems with Install 1.3.26a symbol gzp_main: referenced symbol not found

Hi,

I had no problem installing the previous version of
mod_gzip 1.3.19a by copying the source to the same
directory as apxs and then executing the command "apxs
-i -a -c mod_gzip.c".  

When I tried to do the same for the new mod_gzip
(1.3.26a) I get the error "Cannot load
/usr/local/apache/libexec/mod_gzip.so into server:
ld.so.1: /usr/local/apache/bin/httpd: fatal:
relocation error: file /usr/local/apache/libexec/mod
_gzip.so: symbol gzp_main: referenced symbol not found
/usr/local/apache/bin/apachectl startssl: httpd could
not be started".

I am running ssl, and mod_proxy, the Apache version is
1.3.26 on a Solaris 7 system.  The installation seems
pretty straightforward, so it must be something stupid
I'm doing wrong, but I have no idea....
