good question - i don't know, to be honest. i just copied the
config-settings from several homepages and decided that the one i merged
with my httpd.conf was the most complete. i wanted to use
config-settings wich have been positively tested. could this setting
cause the httpd to crash?

neither in the error-log nor in the event-manager of w2k, which
sometimes gave good hints with apache 1.3.2x. is there a way to let
apache report what caused it to crash?

that means ... ? do i have to include the path zlib.dll into the the
httpd.conf? or how do i tell mod_gzip where to find the needed library?
i have it in my c:/winnt/system32/-folder ...

GENERAL QUESTION: is there anyone out there who made apache 2.0.43 work
with mod_gzip?
