I am not familiar with this work around, can you point me to
some info on the Web somewhere or a past message archive relating
to it?

Yeah, the server operates - but, it fills up the event logs
until they run out of room. *ack* So, if this is the case it would
still be nice to have a version compiled with the EAPI switch on to
get rid of the warnings. Any ways, my configuration is:

Apache/1.3.27 (Win32) mod_gzip/1.3.26.1a PHP/4.3.0 mod_perl/1.27_01-dev 
mod_ssl/2.8.12 OpenSSL/0.9.6h
