Hi folks,
mod_gzip certainly looks cool and I'd like to give it
a try. Unfortuantely, my apache knowledge is quite
limited, and I have been able to progress very far.
- I am using apache-1.3.26-0.1RS.
- I downloaded mod_gzip-1.3.26.1a (mod_gzip.so.gz),
and copied mod_gzip.so to my modules directory.
- I included the line "LoadModule mod_gzip
/modules/mod_gzip.so"
Upon restarting Apache, I get:
Starting httpd: Syntax error on line 281 of
/etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf:
Can't locate API module structure `mod_gzip' in file
/etc/httpd/modules/mod_gzip.so: /usr/sbin/httpd:
undefined symbol: mod_gzip
[FAILED]
Does anyone know what I am doing wrong? I even
downloaded the source, did a make, and tried the
mod_gzip.so that was created there. Got the same
problem.
Any help would be much appreciated!
Thanks,
Terry
