Hi Michael,

in fact I compiled and installed the version 1.3.26.1a and everything went
fine. I guess something was wrong with that package. Yes there is something
unusual even in the apache package, since I cannot install Zend Optimizer
for Php, but this is another story...

Yes, that would be my suggestion as well (and use 1.3.26.1a then).

But maybe these Debian people changed something within their
Apache as well?
