[Mod_gzip] Compilation Problem w/apxs

Hi List,

I'd like to get going using mod_gzip, but -- after compiling through
apxs -- I get the following error message:

   Cannot load /$PATH/libexec/mod_gzip.so into server:
/$PATH/libexec/mod_gzip.so: undefined symbol: gzp_main

($PATH here is my Apache install path).

Googling revealed nothing for 'gzp_main': anyone an idea what may be wrong?

I'm using the latest mod_gzip source, compiled using:

   apxs -c mod_foo.c
   apxs -i -a -n foo mod_foo.so

I have Apache 1.3.27, which I have hardly touched, other than to install
PHP. I placed mod_gzip before all other LoadModule/AddModule statements
as well.

Hope someone can help, thanks,

Ed Bradburn
