and I think you did a good job as a tester.

There aren't many people like you who actually do
performance tests and even compression rate tests -
otherwise this aspect would have been identified a
long time ago.
I would encourage you to continue doing so for new
Apache releases as well as for mod_gzip releases.

As we all managed to work together (and Ian was happy
enough about your results to implement the change on
first sight), your remarks about the Apache Group
should be considered undone now. And if this were
to be my job in the discussion (make people sit
together at the same table and solve the problem)
then every one of us has his share of the result. ;-)

After all, we share a common idea: Saving bandwidth.
