ok, this is the entire way i followed :
cd mod_gzip-1.3.26.1a
mkdir ../apache/src/modules/gzip
cp *.c ../apache/src/modules/gzip/
cp *.h ../apache/src/modules/gzip/
cp *.tmpl ../apache/src/modules/gzip/
cd apache
./configure \
--prefix=/var/www \
--activate-module=src/modules/php4/libphp4.a \
--activate-module=src/modules/gzip/mod_gzip.a \
--enable-module=rewrite \
--enable-module=ssl
configure ok
and the result of "make" in apache dir:
