[Mod_gzip] apache 1.3.27 mod_gzip-1.3.26.1a static build failure

Hi!

I'm currently not able to compile apache with static integration of mod_gzip
on a Dell PowerEdge 2600 running Debian stable with 2.4.20. Could it be a 
make issue? Any pointers would be greatly appreciated.
