Agreed ... that is one of the great things about mod_gzip being able to 
selectively compress based on the last modified date of the files.

Yes ... although I think the same is happening on Mozilla - so it may a 
problem with the way I've configured httpd.conf.

I've had problems finding examples on the Net ... so maybe there's just no 
easy way to do this.
