[Mod_gzip] issues with mod_gzip on IE5.5

This is Kevin Kiley

I believe MSIE is famous for NOT being able to handle 
PDF mime type that returns with "Content-encoding: gzip",
but I guess you already know that since you are 
excluding PDF's from compression.

As far as it 'not showing up' even when you are NOT
compressing it... just make sure you haven't gotten
a 'bad' PDF stuck in your MSIE browser cache.

Go to MSIE 'Settings' and wipe out your entire cache
and make SURE you are getting a 'fresh' ( non-compressed )
version of the PDF all the way from the Server and not
out of your own browser cache.

If it is still showing up from Server with "Content-encoding: gzip"
then there's something wrong with your 'exclusion' rules for
PDF mime type. Post your exclusion rule(s) here and 
we will take a look at them.
